BARACKiN!
Copied and Pasted from my MYSPACE BULLETIN:
So yeah. Everyone else doing it so I am too. but I'm not boastin or braggin.
OBAMA won. Yes we do know. McCain took his loss like a G tho. He wasn't negative so I don't see why his supporters need to be. But that's not gonna stop them nor is it gonna keep the Obama supporters from doing it as well.
But what people don't understand is why it's such a BIG deal; and that's what gets me. A man of ethnic background won. FINALLY a chance. Not that anyone has run and made it this far, that was a milestone in itself. But the thing is this is the BIGGEST example that people of color ARE just as qualified as anyone else. He has brought SO many people together. OF ALL RACES AND AGES. Republicans and Democrats alike. I'm from VA baby and we haven't been a Democratic state in 44 years. And look what's happened. I'm not saying that his color didn't play a part for many of the voters, but I know just as many did their research. I can't explain how many times I've discussed his background with people. For those people, and I know quite a few who I thought more highly of, didn't vote for him because he's black, you should be ashamed. I have heard one too many times something to the effect that the world is gonna blow up now thanks to a black man in office, or that they are gonna drink themselves into a 4 year coma. SO BE IT! Miss out on all the good that's about to come!!! If you wanna get TECHNICAL, he's not even ALL BLACK, Like seriously. Research the earlier presidents. plenty of them have some black in them too. I couldn't stand seeing those Campaign commercials trying to down him saying he didn't have qualifications. APPARENTLY he did if he made it thus far and now is president. And no one can STUDY to be President. Let's get serious. Last night was AMAZING! As soon as we saw that OBAMA had blown pass the 270 electoral votes, we grabbed the jackets and headed outside. It was all of maybe 20 people out there at first. Before you knew it, the number had grown to thousands. I'm not exxaggerating one bit. Parading the streets, singing, chanting, hugging and applauding. People of EVERY race [and you all know how diverse VCU is] just saying man can you believe it. Thank GOD I voted. It was not one angry mouth in the crowd. No breaking of anything nothing negative going on. For 3 hours, I was in the midst of a celebration for this age of change. I don't care what anyone says. I don't care what you think about the man. The fact is, he is just as much your angry self's president as he is mine. So let him have his chance.
